Canadian Blood Services Looks To Fill Two Banks This Season
Prince George, B.C. – With the holiday season upon us, the local Canadian Blood Services clinic is encouraging city residents to do two good deeds with one stop…
As part of the 2nd annual ‘Bleed & Feed’ campaign, Prince George blood donors are being encouraged to bring along a non-perishable food item for their visit to the local CBS clinic.
In December, CBS needs 9,750 donors to give blood at clinics across the province, while Food Banks British Columbia is estimating it will need enough food to feed 70-thousand people.
"The needs of both the blood bank and the food bank are great," says Ed Yee, Director of Donor & Clinic Services for the BC & Yukon region. "But by rallying together, British Columbians can help fill up both of these banks at blood donor clinics across the province this December."
Locally, the food collected at the blood donor clinic on Westwood Drive will be donated to the Salvation Army’s Family Services.
There are three blood donor clinics this week – on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. To book an appointment online you can go to www.blood.ca, or phone 1-888-2-DONATE.
