Airport Passenger Volumes Up at YXS

Prince George, B.C. – 36,732 passengers passed through the Prince George airport in October, that’s 11.1% more than in October 2010. Year-to-date, passenger traffic through the airport was up 1.7% compared to the first ten months of last year.

Comparatively, traffic through the Vancouver airport was up 1.2%, year-to-date, for the same period.

Airport CEO, John Gibson,  says the increase in passenger volumes has a lot to do with the growing interest and activity in the resource sector.

The P.G. to Las Vegas flights helped somewhat in boosting those passenger numbers.  Gibson says  while the flights got off to a slow start, they did pick up. He says Westjet will be sitting down with P.G. Airport reps early in the new year to go over their future plans for that direct flight. “The fact they are looking to talk about it, is a positive sign” says Gibson.

It also has to do with the people working at Mount Milligan and Fraser Lake. Some come from the East eg. Newfoundland and Ontario.

Pretty sad when you can’t pull up to the airport to pick someone up without having to pay for a parking spot.

Or a hospital.

Time for a revolution eh Harbinger? LOL!!!

If I’m not there, start without me. I’ll catch up.

I see that a twice a week flight to Vegas was a good idea, Must have not been the same person who came up with the everyday flight to Seattle ,that was a pretty dumb idea cost the city a ton.
