20 Year old Arrested For Seeking Sex On Line In Chilliwack

Chilliwack- RCMP are investigating an alleged sexual interference after a complaint was received from the parents of a 13 year old Chilliwack girl who advised their daughter was engaged in a sexual relationship with a 20 year old man from Surrey.
The relationship was initiated through an online social website.
The communication between the 13 year old girl and the 20 year old man was initiated through Facebook and Peer to Peer iPod Applications.
They had several online conversations and shared explicit photos of themselves to each other. The two also met personally on more than one occasion where sexual offences were committed.
The 20 year old man has been arrested by the Chilliwack RCMP. He was released from custody with conditions, including to have no contact with the young girl.
The man has not yet been formally charged by Crown Counsel, but is facing several sexual related charges.
"Education is key. One area of concern, especially because the iPod and iPad are becoming more appealing to children, is parental control of the content," said Corporal Tammy Hollingsworth. "Be sure to check the device you have to see if there is a setting to set limitations as to what your device can access in the interest of restricting inappropriate web material and help protect your child from online predators."

This is nothing new. I have seen young teens like older dudes because they get free beer and drugs, that’s a fact. I would blame the girls parents for being stupid for letting their kid do what she wants, never mind him.

The 20 year old man is completely responsible for his actions…This is a 13 year old girl that is being completely taken advantage of especially if it involves drugs and alcohol like you infer.
Attitudes like yours is what make sexual assaults and abuse so much easier to get away with, and don’t get reported enough because of the victims fear of being looked down upon by you!
As it is the age of consent in this country is already to low at 16, never mind this creep.
Its to bad that the Lower Mainland Batman didn’t find this guy.

Actually the age of consent was lowered to 15 a few years ago.
As coordinator of CASEY (Communities Against Sexual Exploitation Of Youth) I have booked a workshop on March 5th regarding this very issue. Merlyn Horton, who is the executive director of SOLOS (Safe Online Outreach Society)from Langley will be here in PG to do a free public workshop on the risks of online dating, sexting and other potential online dangers for youth. Merlyn has been in PG a few times and has presented to high schools, PACs and to the general public.
Time and venue to be announced for this March 5th workshop.
As an ex school teacher, I have to blame the parents. I’ve seen it too many times; young girls with no parental leadership, or morals.

I’m sure the parents deserve some of the blame BUT the 20 year old should still be taken out and shot.
Well of course, something wrong with his head too. He can’t find a person his own age? I am sure there are some older women that like 20 year old guys.
My wife and I are the proud owners of a wonderful 14 year old daughter.We have taught my daughter that guys in general are slobs and they are only interested in one thing. Her 2 brothers help stress that point. If anything was to happen as in the above news brief we would be the first to blame ourselves.

I have a 13 year old son who has a FB account and has proven himself to be a very responsible kid with a good head on his shoulders. But I still have the password and occasionally check it for various reasons. I am FLOORED by the sheer number of his female classmates who post pictures of themselves scantily clad, heavily made up and always the sexy pose from the best angle (Wee cleavage wise)and pouty lips. And it is obvious by some of the responses they do not know all of their “friends” personally. 13 year old girls understand sexualizing themselves but not the consequences or the fact those pictures are now across the world and useable by anyone. Parents need to get a grip and invade their wee dears privacy more often.
