Motorists Staying Off Roads?

Prince George, B.C. – It has been quite the weekend, weather-wise, and area roads are a challenge as a result…
Friday’s heavy snowfall during the day, followed by rain overnight and into yesterday, then last night’s freezing temperatures have resulted in the perfect conditions for an outdoor rink…and roads are slippery as a result.
But Prince George RCMP say there have been no major incidents on area roads reported overnight. The Transportation Ministry’s DriveBC website is reporting slippery sections the highways leading into the city. On Highway 97, north of Salmon Valley there is compact snow with slushy sections all the way to the Mackenzie junction. To the south, in addition to slippery sections from Stoner to just north of Quesnel, there is also limited visibility due to fog at this hour.
Norm Clarke with Ron’s Towing says, surprisingly, it was a quiet evening last night and that’s continued through to this morning – he says many drivers must have chosen to stay home, given the road conditions.

Yah, it would be really slick for doing anything for sure.
Hoping next saturday is good. Thats when I do my travel west of town.
Driving on our roads in weather like this can be very hazardous to your health. You’re best to just stay home and wait for all the crashes to occur first, then the hwys maintenance contractor will be called out to plow and sand the roads and make it safe for the rest of us.
came from out by the airport in blackburn to pick up our vehicle at the hall and the roads are BAD. South blackburn has something with a large pool of water….CITY???????
