Prince George, B.C. – It was not the weekend wrap-up the Cariboo Cougars had wanted, heading into the Christmas break…
The Cats fell 1-0 to the Vancouver NW Giants last night, and dropped a 5-1 decision in Kin I this morning.
The Giants led 1-0 after the first period, and 3-0 after 40-minutes before Hayden-James Berra scored the Cariboo Cougars lone goal in the third. The victory puts Vancouver NW in sole possession of first in the BC Major Midget League as the teams break for Christmas, with 35-points.
To add insult to injury, the Vancouver NE Chiefs downed the South Island Thunderbirds 5-3 in action elsewhere today…meaning the Chiefs have moved into second spot with 32-points.
The Cariboo Cougars now sit in third with 31-points.
