Derailment Site Clear

Thursday, December 22, 2011 @ 9:52 AM
Prince George, B.C.- The CN derailment site, about 10 kms east of Vanderhoof, has been cleared.

The track was reopened as of 7:15 this morning after crews cleared the area of the 18 coal cars that had jumped the rails. The train was bound for Prince Rupert when it went off the tracks around 6:00 yesterday morning.

There were no injuries in the derailment and the cause is under investigation.

CN says its customers should expect that shipments scheduled to move through the affected area may be delayed by up to 16 hours as normal service is restored in the region.
