Google Gauges Popular Searches for 2011

Prince George, B.C.- As another year comes to a close, it is often a time when folks take stock of the year that has passed as they plan for the year ahead.
Such is the case with Google, as it has put together a list of the top Canadian “Searches” of 2011.
According to Google, the fastest rising Canadian searched was Jack Layton. Searches for Vancouver Canucks spiked during the playoffs … followed by “Vancouver Riots” searched in the weeks following that Game 7 loss.
The fastest rising search in Canada was for the 2011 Census website. Perhaps not so surprising when you consider that 98% of Canadians responded to the census… many of them online!
