Jeanne Clarke Award Nominations Being Accepted

Prince George, B.C.- There are only a few days left to make a submission for Jeanne Clarke Local History Award.
 
The Prince George Public Library is accepting nominations for the award which recognizes outstanding contributions to the appreciation and understanding of local history.
 
The award has two parts.  There is the Service Award which is given to an individual or group for ongoing efforts to preserve local history. There is also the Publication Award which is given to the author, or authors of an important new work in the field of local history.
Nomination letters for the 2012 Jeanne Clarke Award must clearly identify the nominee, the category in which they are they are being nominated, and must make a compelling case on behalf of the nominee for why their service or publication deserves to receive the Jeanne Clarke Award.
 
Nominators must include their name and contact information, as well as the name and contact information of the nominee. The deadline for nominations is Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 5 p.m. Nominations can be emailed to grawson@lib.pg.bc.ca or mailed to Gina Rawson, Community Outreach Librarian, 887 Dominion St., Prince George, BC, V2L 5L1.
 
The award will be presented at the Prince George Public Library’s local history reception on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 7 p.m. at the Bob Harkins branch.
