Tuesday, January 3, 2012 @ 2:24 PM
Prince George, BC – The fire which forced the evacuation of   the Meadowbrook Apartment block on First Avenue near Ospika,  New Year’s day, was deliberately set.

The RCMP are now in charge of the investigation.

Twenty eight people from the 12 occupied suites have registered with the City for Emergency Social Services support.

The apartment building has been turned over to the owner of the building and an insurance adjustor, They will determine when residents can move back into their apartments.

More details are expected to be available by week’s end.

The fire appears to have originated in a storage locker on the ground floor, it was the second fire at this building in a month.

All these fires so close together. I hope this isn’t our version of the LA County arsons!

What’s interesting is I drive by this apartment almost every day on my way to work and about 3 months ago i drove by in the early morning and all the residents were out front of this building huddled around each other. At the time i thought might have been a false alarm fire drill. This incident makes you wonder.
