Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Spruce Kings have run their BCHL winning streak to four games, topping off a back-to-back home stand against the Westside Warriors with a 5-2 victory at the Coliseum Friday night. The Kings scored nine times over the two games, recording a 4-1 win Thursday. The Warriors led 1-0 after one period on Dru Morrison goal, but the Spruce Kings got two from league scoring leader Paul De Jersey and another from Ben Matthews to go up 3-1 after two. They outscored Westside 2-1 in the third period with goals from Leo Fitzgerald and Cody Bardock. Both Warrior goals were scored on the power play while Matthews’ marker also came with the man advantage. Kirk Thompson got the win with 26 saves on the night. The Spruce Kings remain in third place in the Interior Conference, four points behind the Merritt Centennials who beat Salmon Arm 7-4. The Kings did expand their lead over Chilliwack to three points as the Chiefs fell 6-2 to Penticton. The Spruce Kings hit the road next weekend with games in Chilliwack Friday, Penticton Saturday, wrapping it up with an afternoon contest in Vernon on Sunday.

PG Fans are always saying “give us some good hockey and a winning team and we will show up” well they are playing great hockey and winning lots of games so where are the fans???? It would be great to see the old coliseum packed again.

Oh and I should add that you can pick up a family ticket pack good for up to 6 family members for 20 bucks at Overwaitea. Cheap night out to watch some great hockey

There has been alot more fans lately than before, not saying the place is full but it is a good loud group of fans. SK are winning alot of there games and the other team in town has been losing alot of there games,so I think the SK got some of there fans.
