Return of Snow Affects Some Highway Driving

Prince George, B.C. – Snow returned to north-central B.C. Friday night, with the white precipitation falling from west of Terrace all the way to the Alberta border and from the B.C.-Yukon border to south of Quesnel. Driving conditions have been impacted, particularly in the area between Tete Jaune and Jasper, but there are no weather warnings issued.
Slippery sections are the norm this morning ojn both Highways 16 and 97 with the following exceptions: for Hwy 16 compact snow from Crescent Spur to McBride and from 19 kilometres west of the junction with Highway 5 basically all the way to the Alberta border. Highway 97 also has sections of compact snow from 56 kilometres south of Quesnel to 30K north of Quesnel, and from the junction with Highway 39 south of Mackenzie to 42K south of the junction with Highway 52.
Another 2 to 4 centimetres of snow are forecast for the immediate Prince George area today.
