Prince George,B.C.  – Dr. William Osei, Medical health officer with Northern Health says Northern Health workers are on the scene in Valemount looking at that area as being a possible location where a 45 year old Edmonton area farmer came in contact with Legionnaires disease.
The man had been in the Valemount area snowmobiling during the Christmas period. He returned home to Edmonton where he fell ill.
He is in hospital in Edmonton in serious condition.
Tests have confirmed that he is suffering from the Legionaries disease.
Dr. Osei says, "We have a place of interest in mind but until we have been able to track the man’s whereabouts during the period in question we are continuing to investigate the matter in conjunction with Alberta Authorities."
