Saturday, January 14, 2012 @ 2:10 PM

Prince George, BC – One person has been killed in a single vehicle crash in that occurred in the Fraser Canyon last night near the Alexandria tunnel.

Upper Fraser Valley Regional RCMP are just releasing information about the rollover that killed a 53-year-old man from Surrey at approximately 8pm last night.

Police say the vehicle had been travelling westbound on Highway #1 when it failed to negotiate a right-hand curve, hit the ditch and rolled end-over-end before coming to rest on its roof in the centre of the highway.

The driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle.  He was pronounced dead at Fraser Canyon hospital.  RCMP say speed is believed to have been a major factor in this crash.

Enjoying the curvey highway at speed from the sounds of it. Have done so many times myself. The radio report stated that impairment from alcohol or drugs was not suspected.
Accidents like this should help us remain aware that our reflexes are not always what we remember, as we age.
I am guessing this fellow made one small mistake, and it cost him his life. Thankfully no other persons were involved.
