Falcon In P.G.

Monday, January 16, 2012 @ 3:57 AM
Prince George, B.C.- Provincial Finance Minister Kevin Falcon is in Prince George today. He will be speaking at a Chamber of Commerce lunch on the financial  factors and challenges facing the Province.

The visit comes just days after the Ministry of Finance released the new website which challenges British Columbians to find ways to balance the budget. The site “My B.C. Budget” www.gov.bc.ca/mybcbudget — uses forecasts from Budget 2011 and the September quarterly report to let people see the effect of raising and lowering revenues and spending on the provincial budget, with the goal of eliminating the 2013-14 deficit, which was forecast in September to be $458 million.

Falcon’s Ministry has also just announced that province announced has reached an agreement with the Federal Government for a five year plan to pay back the $1.6 billion dollars in transition funding Victoria had received when it implemented the HST.

IMO this guy cost BC $1.6 billion… far more then the ndp cost BC at $400 million for our aluminum shipbuilding industry that the liberals scraped for nothing when they came to power.

$320 million a year the BC liberals have now given away. Its robbery and they should really be going to jail and not running this province anymore.

Harper bribed BC with the original HST $1.6 Billion… did an end run around the democratic process by hiding their agreement until after the provincial election… then collected far more than the $1.6 billion by their democratically fraudulant HST, which by some estimates they have already collected three times as much as the bribe money and will likely collect another extra $1.6 Billion by the time the PST is finally repatriated.

The BC liberals gave $1.6 billion away to Harper because it is not their money and they and their corporations won’t be paying any more taxes to cover this give away. It was irresponsible behavior for anyone that is looking out for BC’s fiscal fucture. Likely the most vulnerable in BC will be paying for this pay off through cuts to their services.

Should have said to Harper, “tough luck see you in court”… then the court should have been televised so we could all see in the open who bribed who and who knew what when under oath, so we could finally know who really was behind the HST. Harper would have said no thanks you keep the $1.6 billion its a cost of doing business.

Goes to show Cristy Clark is not ready nor strong willed enough to run the province IMO. She is willing to pay $1.6 billion dollars of hard earned BC tax dollars from the citizens of BC to cover up the HST fiasco. Its the cost of dirty politics for the BC liberals IMO….

I’m so excited. I think I’ll take the day off so I can listen to all the B.S. and have good laugh.

The ignorant masses. Ah shut your whinning and pay your taxes.

Ah Falcon… the same person who opened his yap, suggesting the new Federal transfer payments for health care based on population is a really good idea. Even the Premier is vocal against this plan, but Falcon says it’s a good deal.

Gee… do you think this guy is trying to get a Federal job when his rear is firmly kicked out the doors in Victoria?

It makes sense from the Federal Government point of view to have a harmonized HST in Canada. So you cant fault the Harper Government for trying. Thats their job. Dont forget that Harper reduced the GST from 7% to 5% so how many billions did he lose through this process.??

The HST fiasco can be laid at the door of Gordon Campbell, Hansen, and the Liberal Government pure and simple.

As a matter of interest, we know that the Federal Government gave the Province $1.6 Billion to help with the transition to the HST, but what we dont know is how much money did the Provincial Government actually spend on transition, and how much went into GENERAL FUNDS to reduce their staggering deficit???? Thats the question. I have never seen that number.

The Liberals have been screwing us royally for a number of years now, and its time to stop. Falcons stupid **My BC Budget** scheme is nothing but BS. They do these things to give people the impression that they care, when in fact they could care less.

We have a serious problem in BC politics, hopefully somone can come up with a solution real soon.

These comments, together with the endless loopy left musings of Comrade Ewert, confirm that O-250 has firmly established itself as an NDP mouth piece.

Not election time yet. Have not seen so many politicians coming to PG like I have in the past year. Must be more money in PG or more promises….

“These comments, together with the endless loopy left musings of Comrade Ewert, confirm that O-250 has firmly established itself as an NDP mouth piece.”

Spoken like a true lover of BC Liberal policy…. and btw… I’m NOT a supporter of the NDP.

Nor am I. Rocky assumes anyone who doesnt support the Liberals is an NDPer. Hopefully we can get a **good** third party running in the next election and he will then get a good idea of just how bad the Liberals are disliked in this Province.

Using the old vote Liberal or the NDP will form the Government is no longer a valid option. It stopped being an option the day the Liberals started screwing us worse than the NDP.

Its time to stop rewarding bad behaviour.

Me niether.

Clearly there is an NDP preference on this site but the name calling is no more productive than the “Fiberals” and other pointless comments. I am quickly reminded of parliament hill and how the politicians seem to think bickering helps improve anything. But are we much better?

What we need is to work together and try to get away from partisan politics. I seldom agree with Eagleone or Ewart but thoughtful opinions make the world go around.

What we really need is less complaining from the right and the left and more actual solutions or at least ideas. What we always get is BASH BASH BASH, whats on TV?

How much more money and time is wasted setting up this ridiculous website. Falcon it is your job even if you do not like it do it, like thousands of BC people have to do everyday. In my opinion there is something slimy going on with this five year repayment, what has Christy given to Harper for this?

BC has always been the blame game for politics. NDP get in..and they suck according to all the liberals.. the liberals get in and they suck.. and the cycle continues.

Basically they all lie to get in..then do what they want.

I would like to thank Kevin Falcon for introducing the per patient medical system when you were the Health Minister!Oh it is a great system for those patients who need knee, hip replacements, etc. However, your system hurts the patients with chronic diseases,auto-immune diseases and anything the medical community has trouble diagnosing.I know this for a fact and have witnessed the decline of services for these people, who suffer from these conditions, since you introduced these measures. So,once again thankyou Mr. Falcon, and may you enjoy a posting overseas along with Mr. Campbell,so we never have to look at your mug again.
