Prince George, B.C. – Prince George Fire Rescue is offering some valuable tips to help residents reduce the risk of residential fire during this cold spell.
It seems, without fail, that the city and surrounding area record fires each winter that are directly related to people trying to keep their homes warm as the mercury falls. Deputy Fire Chief John Iverson has a three-point plan for dealing with the cold:
–make sure your wood-burning appliances are kept clean and in good working order.
–do not use open flame devices to thaw frozen pipes.
–do not overload your electrical circuits.
“Stick to those three basic things” says Iverson “and you should be able to avoid dangerous fire situations.”

Good Advice, but better would be to tell The Gas Company and Hydro stop jacking up your Rates. I know Power Smart will fix all our Problems , translates into you use less Energy but pay more every Month!
