Being just a Canadian, I am sure that it will be certain the US government will send what is called a memo to the Liberal Party executives kind of explaining to these Libs that this decision would undermine “America’s” (as if we aren’t geographically part of America too) “war on drugs”. (Seems to date that this particular war is not being won) A large percentage of Americas justice system employees from the policeman who makes the arrest to the jail guard who opens the door to the jail to release the perp, their jobs would be very much in jeopardy. Being typically American maybe the next government will have to spend billions bailing out a large portion of the justice system down there due to fewer drug enforcement laws influenced maybe by Canada’s decision. IF the Lieberals ever get to run our country again.Which I doubt.

Harbinger, I agree, however, not to worry.
Can’t see the Lieberals getting in either, all their constituents being too high, forgetting to vote.
Can’t believe they’d stoop this low for votes, but when yer desperate…………

The federal Liberals have a long history of talking about legalizing marijuana. Trudeau considered the campaign slogan “let’s put some pot in every chicken” and Chretien actually promised to legalize or decriminalize, but in both instances other priorities took precedence in the legislative agenda. I don’t expect that there will be any more action this time, and as noted above the Liberals aren’t going to be in a position to act on this any time soon.

Hmmm… gives new meaning to Political Trail “Blazer” doesn’t it?

:-D

Legalize pot and elect a woman as the next Primeminister.

Why stop at pot, legalize it all. Maybe less kids would die from the garbage that’s out there. Then what would all the gangs do?

Not the pot but why do you think Pierre Trudeau liked to vacation in Turkey ?

There is a lot of truth in what Noway just said. Portugal legalized it all. Lets see now; crime went down , drug deaths went down, legal system costs went down, health care costs went down. The only stipulation was that to get your drugs you had to get educated and take courses on what drugs do etc. Never mind what those criminal gangs lost like the bikers and the lawyers!
