Edmonton, Alberta – The condition of a 45 year old Edmonton area man who is suffering from legionnaire’s disease is not known.
The family, the hospital and the Provincial authorities in Alberta are not giving out the condition of Greg Thor.
Friends have said that Thor may have come in contact with the disease while using a hot tub in Valemount. That has not been proven. Thor was in that area over the Christmas holidays on a snowmobile trip.
There has also been no evidence found that would support the notion that Thor contracted the illness at a hotel in that community.
Thor returned home to Edmonton with flu like symptoms that eventually forced the hospital to place him in an induced coma, while he fights the disease. Officials in Alberta have yet to confirm this is a case of Legionnaires disease, however, officials with Northern Health say the tests for the disease were positive, although the source of the disease has not be established.
