The fire at Babine Forest Products is tragic in many respects.

The tragic loss of lives and the suffering for those who escaped the blast will forever be felt,  the blast has now created a massive economic problem for the small community.

While the planer, mechanical and kiln dry are still standing, the main body the saw mill, is not and added to that is the time that it would take to rebuild the structure.

That all however should be set aside for the time being while the citizens of the province offer up their prayers for those with lost loved ones and for those who remain in hospital suffering from the explosion.

Each and every one of us send our sincere condolences to those who have lost a loved one and also our special prayers for those who remain in hospital, some still in very serious condition.

It is unfortunate that in this time of need all we can really offer is our hopes and prayers for their safety, the fallout from this disaster will come later.
