Prince George, B.C. – It will be another day or two before city fire officials can identify the cause of a weekend duplex fire in the VLA, but one spokesperson says the blaze was not suspicious.
Deputy Fire Chief John Iverson says “in no way is this fire being looked at as having suspicious origins. The cause has not been determined yet and won’t be for another day or two. It remains under investigation.”
Seventeen firefighters responded to the fire in the 1400 block McCullough Avenue around 7 Saturday morning. One of the two occupants of the duplex got out safely while firefighters brought out the second person. They were taken to hospital for evaluation. Deputy Chief Iverson could provide information on their condition, but did say police are not involved in the matter at all.
Damage estimate is about 50-thousand-dollars.
