Prince George, B.C.- The Grey Cup is coming to Prince George!
P.G. is on the list of communities which will have an opportunity for residents to see the Cup, take a photo and meet members of the Grey Cup Champion B.C. Lions, including quarterback Travis Lulay.
The tour starts January 29th, and will see the Grey Cup arrive in Prince George Thursday February 2nd, where it will be on display at the Pine Centre Mall from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., and on display on Friday February 3rd from 9:30 to 10:15 at the Native Friendship Centre on Third Avenue.
"The Grey Cup has long-been known as the ‘people’s cup’ and it is with tremendous pride that we embark on this province wide tour” says Dennis Skulsky, president and CEO of the BC Lions. “As six-time Grey Cup champions coming off an emotional title win at home for the second time in franchise history, this tour celebrates what the BC Lions value most, the support of fans across this great province."
Other communities which will welcome the cup include Williams Lake which will host an event on the morning of February 2nd at the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex from 2:30 to 3:30 in the afternoon.
The BC Lions won the Cup November 27th with a 34 to 23 win over Winnipeg. It was only the 4th time in the 99 year history of the Grey Cup that a home town team has won the trophy.
