Prince George, B.C. – Today marks eight months since a young woman from Vanderhoof vanished from an overnight outing with friends, without a trace…
Madison Scott had been attending a party at nearby Hogsback Lake. She had planned on staying the night. The 20-year-old was last seen at approximately 3am at the lake’s campsite. She has not been seen or heard from since that night.
Today, family, friends, and supporters have organized a walk into the lake for a candlelight vigil in support of Madison and the ongoing search efforts. The event is open to the public and organizers have invited those who have them to wear their ‘Madison Scott Hope is Your Way Home’ t-shirts.
Participants are invited to walk approximately four-kilometres from Mapes Hall on the Blackwater Road, to Hogsback Lake, starting anytime between 2-3pm this afternoon.
Once at the lake, everyone will be given a luminary to write a message on, the luminaries will be lit at nightfall and a quiet period of reflection will follow.
School District #91 is providing a shuttle bus to drive people back to their vehicles. The t-shirts will also be available by donation towards the $10 cost of supplying them. If you’d like more information, you’re asked to contact Angie at 250-567-9192 or Sandi at 250-392-7535.
The family of Madison Scott continues to offer a $50-thousand dollar reward. Anyone with any information on the disappearance of Madison is asked to call Vanderhoof RCMP at 250-567-2222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
