Snowfall Warning Continues

Saturday, January 28, 2012 @ 12:03 PM

Prince George, B.C. –  While the snow may have stopped falling for the time being in Prince George, Environment Canada has continued its snowfall warning for the region…

A slow-moving Pacific frontal system is currently making its way through the BC Interior and heavy snow is expected to result in significant accumulations for parts of the Central and Southern Interior.  Snow over the Yellowhead will continue until tomorrow morning, resulting in an additional 10- to 15-centimetres on top of today’s accumulations.

The snow is expected to be mixed with rain late this afternoon, with some gusting wind – between 30km/hr to 50km/hr – thrown in for good measure.

Rain showers or flurries are in the forecast overnight, with the temperature holding steady near plus 3.

According to the Ministry of Transportation’s website, www.drivebc.ca, there are no major incidents to report as a result of this morning’s snowfall.  Only Highway 97, just north of Quesnel is reporting limitied visibility due to blowing snow.

The “city” machines were up here last evening (Friday) (west of town) clearing the streets and driveway entrances of every inch of snow right down to the ice in the road. You could have driven a Zamboni down our street. Sans red and blue lines. Now it has snowed. I suspect we won’t see them up here for at least a week to ten days. Goofs.

Yup. They will sand(gravel) intersections today it will rain and snow all night long and Monday they will grade it all off. I think I know where I would cut a little fat.
Have a great wet & snowy weekend people.
