Praise For Outgoing IPG Boss
Prince George, B.C. – Former Prince George Mayor Dan Rogers says news of Tim McEwan’s decision to resign from his post as President and CEO of Initatives Prince George came as somewhat of a surprise…
"But not totally, I suppose," says Rogers, "With his extensive experience and skills in economic development, I know that Tim’s likely in high demand and I know that positive things are in his future."
McEwan’s four years at IPG overlapped Rogers’ three-year term as mayor. Rogers points to McEwan’s role in the investment by Fortis in downtown Prince George – purchasing the building from IPG, investing millions in the local economy and generating jobs as a recent highlight. But he adds McEwan has been critical in forging ahead with some of the bigger, more long-term economic development projects like the light industrial park and logistics opportunities at the airport.
"Being around local government for almost 20-years," says Rogers, "I’ve worked with a number of economic development professionals and I’ve seen very few as passionate and as dedicated to their job as Tim."
"And I think that’s one of the reasons why IPG was so strong – because he had built very strong and respectful relationships in the business community. Not only locally, but provincially, nationally and internationally. He’s going to be missed."

Goodby Timmy. Not going to miss you. Now’s the time to shut the show down and save taxpayers a million a year. Surely we have city staff that could do the job.
