The Prince George Regional Arts and Cultural Awards will honour area residents for their artistic contributions during an evening of celebration Friday, April 27 at the Prince George Playhouse.
Nominations are now being accepted in 16 categories. Besides awards for writing, visual arts, stage work and music, there will also be awards for education, advocacy, design, advertising and culinary arts. The top award, the Alice Box Memorial Award, will go to an individual for outstanding contribution to the arts and cultural life in Prince George and/or the Regional District of Fraser Fort-George for the last 10 years or more.
Nominations should be in the form of a letter, stating why the nominee is deserving of the award, citing recent works by the nominee. The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 2 at 5 p.m. Nominations should be sent to Neil Godbout, library communications coordinator, by e-mail (ngodbout@lib.pg.bc.ca), by mail (887 Dominion Street, Prince George, BC, V2L 5L1), by fax (250) 563-0892 or by hand-delivery to the Bob Harkins branch of the library. More information about the criteria for each award is available at the Studio 2880 office and at both branches of the Prince George Public Library.
Tickets will go on sale in March for the awards celebration on April 27.
