Thursday, February 2, 2012 @ 9:30 PM

Prince George, B.C. – At least one person has been killed in what’s believed to have been a head-on collision on Highway 16, west of Fraser Lake this evening.

The crash occurred approximately five-kilometres west of the community and has closed the route to traffic in both directions.

Prince George Regional/Provincial Traffic Services Staff-Sergeant Pat McTiernan says the collision involved a car and truck – it’s not known if it was a pick-up or transport truck at this point.  McTiernans says details on the number of people involved, and the extent of their injuries is not yet known.

He says additional officers from Burns Lake and Vanderhoof are en route to the scene, and a traffic collision expert has been called out from Prince George.

It’s not known when the highway will re-open.

Sounds like the sharp corner before the bridge… sketchy spot at times if anyone is going to fast.
