Prince George, B.C. – Funeral services will be held today and tomorrow for the two men who died in the explosion and fire January 20th that leveled the sawmill at Babine Forest Products, just east of Burns Lake.

45-year-old Robert Luggi and 42-year-old Carl Charlie were killed in the devastating incident. Nineteen of their fellow employees suffered injuries of varying degrees. Some left hospital the next day, others were critically burned and continue to battle for their lives in Vancouver and Edmonton.

A private memorial service for Carl Charlie was held last night.   The funeral for the member of the Babine Lake First Nation will be held Saturday in Burns Lake.

The funeral service for Robert Luggi will be held today at the Stellat’en Hall in Fraser Lake. The family has requested a private service.

The office of Burns Lake Mayor Luke Strimbold says a public memorial service may be held for the people of his community at a later date.
