Barriere Accident Victims Identified

Prince George, B.C. – RCMP in Barriere have released the names of the four people killed in a two-vehicle accident just north of that community Wednesday night. The collision between a sports utility vehicle and a tractor-trailer unit claimed the lives of a family of four, on Highway 5. The police investigation indicates the SUV lost control and crossed the centre-line into the oncoming tractor-trailer.
The victims are identified as 47-year-old Benham Shokri, his 37-year-old wife Shirin Hamedi Khorasani, their 6-year-old son Daniel Shokri and 3-year-old daughter Delina Shokri. The family had been en route from Edmonton to California when the accident occurred on the icey highway. Reports indicate the husband and father was about to start a new job in California. The driver of the truck received minor injuries.
