Knife Fight Leads To Arrest Warrant

Friday, February 10, 2012 @ 2:05 PM

Prince George, BC – A province-wide arrest warrant has been issued for a Prince George man wanted in connection with a knife fight in the downtown core that sent another man to hospital earlier this week.

Prince George RCMP say they located one man suffering non-life threatening injuries from a stab wound, after receiving a report of a fight near the corner of 4th Avenue and Dominion around 8pm on Tuesday evening.  Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the fight that escalated when the knife was produced.  The suspect was not located.

RCMP Media Relations Officer, Corporal Craig Douglass, says, as a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant has been issued for 26-year-old Marcel James Abou of Prince George.   (photo at right courtesy BC RCMP) Abou is formerly from Tsay Keh Dene/Fort Ware.

Abou is described as a First Nations male, approximately 5’9" tall, and weighing 165-pounds.

Corporal Douglass says charges include: assault with a weaspon and several other counts, including breaching conditions and Obstructing a Police Officer, related to three previous incidents in Prince George in 2011.

Anyone with information on Abou’s whereabouts is asked to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Oh no, now he’ll have to walk through the revolving door of the justice system. This is why I steer clear of downtown

Looks like the splitting image of my next door neighbour.

“This is why I steer clear of downtown”

Ditto with me! I go to Third Avenue only if I absolutely have to – to the Northern. Then I may drive on George Street making sure all the doors are locked. Used to go to the RAMADA for breakfast and often for special brunches! Sorry, but no more! If they put the PAC there I will never go there! It is not safe to park the car there in the dark and walk a block!

The whole area needs to have video cameras and some armed military personnel on guard duty as soon as the sun sets – if the known to the police type of scums are not banned from there!

Military police? Really? Get real

What a bunch of pansies. I’ve never had a problem at night in PG–even back when I used to drink a lot. I must be one of the bad guys.

a lot of people would shake their heads at what i’m to say but in my younger poorer days(too poor for cab fare), i used to work as a barista on the late shift till 10 at javva mugga mocha at the corner of 3rd & george, and would walk home, completely unharmed to my crap apartment at 18th & queensway. NEVER looked for trouble, and NEVER had a problem. aahh college years!

Actually in hindsight i do hope that is sarcasm. Lol

Interceptor: “Actually in hindsight i do hope that is sarcasm. Lol”

Quite a bit of sarcasm, but even more frustration! If there is a part of the city which is unsafe some action can be taken to discourage criminal activity from happening there year after year. Whatever kind of action doea the trick – so be it!
Perhaps the misfits need to be intimidated by a display of potential force! If the scums don’t like it they can pack up and leave town!

If you’re scared of street people you’d best avoid any downtown in any city, anywhere in the world.
Personally, I avoid the Hart because I’m scared of rednecks & hillbillies.

LOL. It’s Hartbillies.

Yes and we avoid College heights because we are scared of stuck up posers ;-)
