Fire Quickly Doused In Partially-Built Apartment Building
Prince George, BC – Damage was kept to a minimum, after fire broke out in an apartment building that’s under construction in the 16-hundred block of 7th Avenue earlier this evening. It’s the second fire today that involved a vacant structure, both files are now being handled by the RCMP
Prince George Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Thad Kennedy says 17 fire fighters from three halls responded, after a call came in from a member of the public just before 5pm this evening.
The fire appears to have started on the second floor of the three-storey building. Kennedy says it was quickly doused and did minimal damage, but Fire Rescue remained on-site until RCMP arrived to take over control of the scene.
The Assistant Chief says, "As far as we know, there’s no connection between the two fires." Investigations to determine the causes are underway in both instances.
