AQ Advisory Cancelled
Prince George, B.C.- The Air Quality advisory for Prince George has been cancelled. The cancellation of the advisory means the Free Fare for Clean Air program, which allows for free transit rides on Air Quality Advisory days, will come to an end at midnight tonight.
The provincial air quality objective for fine particles, PM2.5, is 25 micrograms per cubic metre, averaged over 24 hours. The 24 hour PM2.5 rolling average was 17 µg/m3 at the Plaza 400 downtown site, 13 µg/m3 at College Heights, 19 µg/m3 at Exploration Place and 7 µg/m3 at Foreman Flats at 8 am this morning.
The provincial air quality objective for coarse particles, PM10, is 50 micrograms per cubic metre, averaged over 24 hours. The 24 hour PM10 rolling average was 51 µg/m3 at the Plaza 400 downtown, 36 µg/m3 at College Heights and 58 µg/m3 at BCR at 8 am this morning.
Even though 24 hour PM10 levels at Plaza still exceed the provincial objective, hourly values are forecast to remain below 50 µg/m3 throughout the day.
Based on the quality data, the high levels were mainly due to road dust in the bowl area.
