A New Year’s Eve fire completely gutted the old gymnasium
Prince George, B.C. – The Ness Lake Bible Camp will soon start rebuilding the gymnasium that burned to the ground on New Year’s Eve.
The Regional District of Fraser fort George Board of Directors has approved a variance to a development permit that will allow for the construction of a larger gym than the one that had been lost to the flames.
The old gymnasium was 40ft x 120 ft (12.2m x 36.6m)
The new building will be 90ft x 120ft. (27.4m x 36.6m)
The construction of the new gymnasium is expected to get underway at the end of this month with heavy materials delivered to the site before the road bans are in place. The cost of the project has not been finalized as the building is still being designed.
The construction of the Gym has been added to the development permit granted to the Bible Camp two years ago. That plan called for the relocation of cabins, the construction of a small chapel, development of a new septic field, as well as other facilities.

I am glad to hear that as this facility is well used by many.
Good the regional district quickly approved this variance.
Going to have to buy a magnifying glass to take a look at that map.
I’m betting that gym is going to cost about $2 million…
