Prince George- One person was taken to hospital early this morning after hot oil ignited while they were cooking on a stove in the 400 block of Beech Crescent.

Firefighters say the oil ignited as a resident tried to move the oil spilling it on an element. The other occupants of the home were not injured.

Firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control, with damage to the kitchen only, limited at $15,000 dollars.

16 firefighters from 3 halls fought the blaze.
