Two Slightly Hurt In FMC Plant Blaze

Prince George, B.C. –   Two workers at the FMC plant in Prince George were slightly injured in an incident at the plant this morning.

 

At 8:40 a.m. Prince George Fire/Rescue sent 15 firefighters from three halls to a reported structure fire with two persons injured at FMC of Canada Limited on PG Pulp mill Rd.

 

On arrival crews found the fire had been extinguished by onsite personnel and the two patients were being attended by an onsite first aid person for minor injuries.

 

There was a large amount of Hydrogen Peroxide lost however all product was contained to the site and the leak was isolated and the lost product was diluted with water.

 

Fire crews remained on scene until all hazards were eliminated and then returned to hall.  Assistant Fire Chief Drew Larson says there was no environmental impact associated to this leak.
