Cariboo Cougars End Regular Season At Home

Friday, February 24, 2012 @ 12:39 PM

Prince George, B.C. – The Cariboo Cougars host the South Island Thunderbirds this weekend for their final home games of the regular season Saturday and Sunday.

The 22-8-6 Cougars can clinch a first-round playoff bye with a win Saturday night over the tenth place Thunderbirds.

The Cougars are undefeated in their last seven games and look for their third straight win Saturday after sweeping the Thompson Blazers in Chase prior to last weekend’s bye.  The Thunderbirds meanwhile haven’t posted a win since October 30th when they completed the sweep of the Kootenay Ice.

Cougar defenceman Colton Manning returns to the lineup after missing the last several weeks with a lower body injury.  Forward Brett Roulston is expected to remain sidelined with an upper body ailment.

Puckdrop Saturday night is set for 5:15 at Kin 1 with Sunday’s final home game of the season set for 8:00am.  Both games can be viewed live at www.cariboocougars.ca.
