Prince George, BC – The Rick Hansen 25th Anniversary Relay arrives in Prince George Monday, March 19.

 

But before a community celebration gets underway, there will be a relay through the city. The relay will see a special commemorative medal passed from one medal bearer to another. The medal bearers are being recognized for making a difference in the community and in the lives of others.

 

The relay will start  at 4:08 p.m. with the first medal bearer leaving the Honda North Dealership on First Avenue. 

 

 The first Medal‐Bearer on March 19, 2012 will depart from the Honda North Dealership at approx. 4:08pm.   The final Medal Bearer will bring the Medal to the stage at the Civic Centre Plaza at 6:00.

 

 

The party will get underway at 5:00 at the Civic Centre Plaza, and the party continues with Rick Hansen in attendance.

The 25^th Anniversary of Hansen’s Man in Motion tour will see 7,000 Canadians taking part in the Medal Bearing relay. The relay will visit 600 communities in the country and will wrap up in Vancouver on May 22^nd. 

 

“This is an exciting time in our 25th Anniversary celebration and for Canadians across the country, as we connect the nation and provide the opportunity for people who are making a difference in the lives of others to be recognized for their accomplishments and to share their stories,” said Rick Hansen. “This is the start of a movement for 7,000 Canadians to help inspire the nation and live by the credo that anything is possible.”
