Cariboo Cougars Ground Thunderbirds With Weekend Sweep

Prince George, BC – The Cariboo Cougars put on a scoring clinic this weekend, hammering the South Island Thunderbirds 11-1 on Saturday night, before recording a 7-0 shut-out win today.

Eli Jarvis scored two goals just eight seconds apart to give the Cariboo Cougars the early lead in this morning’s game, he added another two assists before the game was over.  Tyler Povelofskie had a goal and two assists, while Tanner Fjellstrom had one of each.

Netminder Nathan Warren stopped all 17 shots he faced for his 12th win of the season.

Nathan Craft scored a hat trick and notched two assists in Saturday night’s 11-1 rout of South Island.  With that win, the Cariboo Cougars clinched second place in the BC Major Midget Hockey League and earned a bye in the first round of the play-offs.

Next weekend is the final one of the regular season.  The Cats are on the road to face the Greater Vancouver Canadians.
