Search on For P.G.’s Worst Driver

Prince George, B.C.- The search is on for the worst driver in Prince George.The television show, “Canada’s Worst Driver” ( which airs on Discovery Channel), is looking for candidates for the new season of the program.

The call is now out for nominations for the worst driver in Prince George, and program spokesperson Meredith Veats says you can’t fake your way on to the program . “We can tell if someone is faking it” says Veats “They will have to provide an accident or ticket history to back up their claim that they are a bad driver. We also talk to family and friends to get more background on the candidate’s driving history and as a final test, we actually sit in the vehicle with them as they have to manoeuvre through a number of tasks.”
Now in its eighth season, Canada’s Worst Driver aims to improve road safety by rehabilitating the nation’s worst drivers, one bad driver at a time. Through a series of challenges and intense drivers training, motorists relearn the rules of the road while improving their core driving skills. Each episode, one person graduates and returns to city streets as a safer, more skilled motorist. At the end of the season, the program’s host will name one lousy licensee ‘Canada’s Worst Driver’.
Nominations are being accepted now through the end of March.
Producers will be in the area this April to meet with the nominees. Those selected for the show will be flown to Ontario in June to take part in one of the world’s most innovative and effective driver’s training programs.

Search? You don’t have to search just stand on a corner and you’ll see lots of them, no searching required.
Yeah, but it would be a big problem short-listing with so many to choose from.
Just stand by a Merge sign and get a good look at the stopped (parked in the lane?) driver who managed to create the longest lineup of frustrated drivers behind him or her!

I’m sure we could do very well at this here in PG. I’m going to nominate my wife. She’s horrible at driving.
I wish I would have gotten the names of a couple I saw trying to park… The lady was outside directing the man into the parking stall (they were pulling in, not backing in) and he still managed to hit at least the one vehicle. Entertaining at least for those of us watching, not so much for the other owner who happened to walk out at that time.
yup… this will be quick for the tv scouts… lol

Couldn’t ICBC provide a list of candidates based on their tickets and at-fault accident history? That would be a good place to start.

Back to the drivers, there are many crappy ones out there. Not limited to passenger vehicles either. I’m sure many of the vehicles in this city do not come equipped with turn signals.
This show is so lame, it actually encourages stupidity behind the wheel. You get goofs that think they are funny because they can’t parallel park or back up without taking out whatever is behind them. Instead of encouraging them, yank their license and get them the hell off the roads. Canada’s worst TV show IMO.
Agreed Junco, the show is bad. It could also be entitled “Canada’s least intelligent people”. PG has lots of candidates for that, too.

Avoiding pot holes deemed a skill?
Whats amazing with this show is, the fact that after how really bad these drivers show the world that they really are, our gov’t allows them to keep their licence and put others in danger on our streets.
Hammy – the show has been on for seven years without being here, its marketing. Do you really think PG is the only place that people do the things on your list?
