Rash of Smash And Grab Robberies in P.G.

Prince George, B.C.- Over the last month, the Prince George RCMP have received many reports of "Smash & Grab" style Break & Enters to businesses located mainly in the downtown area of the City.
 
The most recent happened Wednesday morning when Prince George RCMP received a report of a Break & Enter at a business on the 400 block of Queensway.   Sometime overnight a projectile was used to break the front window at the business. The suspect or suspects reached through the window and removed a number of clothing items, mainly baseball caps and jackets. This same business had been the victim of a smash and grab on March 1st when a window was broken and clothing items within reach of the window were stolen.
 
On March 4th at approximately 9:30 AM, RCMP received a report of a Break & Enter to a business on the 1000 block of Victoria Street. Police arrived and found a window to the business had been broken and 5 pairs of work boots worth over $1600 had been stolen from the window display. 
 
On March 2nd at approximately 9:45 PM, RCMP received a report of a Mischief to a business on the 400 block of Dominion Street. Police arrived and found one pane of glass to a window of the business had been deliberately broken. No entry to the business was gained.
 
On February 28th at approximately 6:15 AM, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a Break & Enter to a business on the 600 block of Victoria Street. Police arrived and found a window to the business had been broken and 5 multi-coloured purses had been stolen from the window display. 
 
On February 15th at approximately 1:45 AM, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a Mischief to a business on the 400 block of Brunswick Street. Police arrived and found one pane of glass to a window of the business was deliberately broken. No entry to the business was gained.
 
On February 12th, 2012 at approximately 10:00 PM, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a Break & Enter to a business on the 1900 block of 20th Avenue. Police arrived and found that a window to the business had been broken and a black 17" HP laptop computer was stolen. A witness advised that the suspect rode away on a bike down Upland Street towards Strathcona Avenue. 
 
The male suspect is described as:
 
·       Caucasian
·       Approximately 35 years old
·       175 cm (5’9")
·       80 kg (175 lbs)
·       Short dark hair
·       Black hat, black coat with yellow logo, tight white or pale jeans
 
The bike was described as:
 
·         Silver mountain bike
·         15 to 21 speed
·         Aggressive tires
·         Straight handle bar
 
On February 10th, at approximately 10:00 AM, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a Mischief to a business on the 1200 block of 2nd Avenue. Police arrived and found two windows to the business had been broken, although it did not appear that anyone could have entered the business and nothing had been stolen
 
On February 9th, at approximately 11:00 PM, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a Break & Enter to a business on the 1800 block of 1st Avenue. Police arrived and found a window to the business had been broken. Three chain saws, two new and one used, were taken. The saws were valued at $2800.   This was the second time in 38 hours that the business was broken into. 
 
On February 8th, there were two incidents, the first at  3:30 AM, at a business on the 1400 block of 2nd Avenue. Police arrived and found the front glass door to the business had been broken. Taken were 14 pajama tops and 10 pajama bottoms worth over $800.  

Later that morning, around 9:00 am there was a report of mischief to a business on the 1800 block of 1st Avenue.  Police arrived and found a window to the business had been broken. Nothing appeared to have been stolen.

Looks like a lot of paperwork to me. How will the Mounties ever find the time to catch these guys? And if they do, sure hope one day in jail and eighteen months probation for these perps stops this trend.

Those are some mighty pricey jammers.

The guys from Excel nabbed a guy doing B&E’s in the Ongman road area on Thursday just after midnight and held him until the police came to take him away. The whole area is covered by cameras, so he’ll have a tough time getting off I would hope.
