Prince George, B.C. – Prince George RCMP say the pilot of a light, small aircraft is safe after an incident at the Prince George airport in the mid-afternoon Saturday.
Police and the airport fire department responded after the plane flipped. Sergeant Todd Gray says the pilot and lone occupant was practicing “touch and goes” when the plane ran off the runway and into a snow bank. He says the plane was attempting the gain altitude but didn’t. After coming to a halt in the snow bank the pilot walked away without a scratch. Sgt. Gray couldn’t say if the pilot is a local man and didn’t know the make of plane.
The Transportation Safety Board will look into the incident.
