Sunday, March 18, 2012 @ 8:53 AM

Prince George, B.C. — The Cariboo Cougars got the series sweep of the Vancouver NE Chiefs with a 4-1 win Saturday night to advance to their third straight BCMML Final.

The Cougars rallied from a 1-0 deficit after the first period to score three straight including an empty-netter to take the best-of-three semi-final in two straight games and will now play the Giants or Canadians in the final series next weekend.

Jamie Waddington gave the Chiefs their first lead of the series with a power play marker in the first.  But from there on in it was all Cougars.  Captain Tanner Fjellstrom scored midway through the second to even the game at one before Hayden-James Berra put home a perfect feed from Jake LeBrun to give the Cougars a 2-1 lead heading into the third period.

Logan Styler made a cross-ice feed to Brett Harris who made no mistake, beating Chiefs goaltender Jeffrey Smith with just over three minutes to go in the third to put the Cougars up by two.  Ryan Forbes then iced the game firing the puck into the empty net with 1:09 to go in the final frame.

The Cougars outshot the Chiefs 47-36 with David Readman picking up his second straight playoff win.

The Cougars now await the winner of the other semi-final series between the Vancouver NW Giants and the Greater Vancouver Canadians which has been pushed to a third and deciding game with a Canadians win Saturday night.
