Prince George, B.C. – Prince George-Peace River MP Bob Zimmer has dropped off a cheque at the University of Northern B.C. to help cover the costs for the second phase of a research project.
The cheque, in the amount of $400 thousand dollars, will fund research on nursing in rural Canada.
This is part two of a research project that was initiated by UNBC ten years ago. That phase examined the quality of life for nurses in rural settings.
This second phase will look at the changing role of nurses in rural communities as many are moving into primary care, and taking on added responsibilities as Nurse Practitioners.
