Terrace Gets Funding To Get Active
Terrace, BC – Efforts to get out and get active in Terrace received a boost from the provincial government this weekend…
Minister of Community, Sport, and Cultural Development, Ida Chong, has announced the city will receive $373-thousand dollars towards its Active Transportation Network Linkage Project. Under its $30-million dollar Community Recreation Progam, the province is funding up to 80-percent of eligible costs for 98 projects around BC that enhance recreation infrastructure.
In Terrace, the money will go towards extending the Grand Trunk pathway, adding cycling lanes and pedestrian sidewalk amenities.
"Terrace is a compact city, which is ideal for active transportation networks that encourage residents and visitors to get out of their cars and walk or bike," says Chong.
