Prince George- RCMP explosives experts have defused a homemade pipe bomb after a member of the public came forward to report that they  had spotted what looked like a pipe bomb.

The improvised explosive device was found inside an apartment in the 4000 block of 15^th Ave Thursday afternoon.

The BC RCMP’s Explosive Disposal Unit was flown in from the lower mainland. They took the bomb and disposed of it.

The investigation is ongoing.
