Monday, April 2, 2012 @ 2:43 PM
Priince George, B.C.- Items valued at more than $10 thousand dollars have been stolen from a Ross Crescent home in Prince George.
RCMP say the home owner had been out of town, and returned yesterday to discover the home had been broken into. Police found the front door had been damaged.
Among the items stolen were a computer and monitor, a camera and jewelery.
No suspects have been identified. The investigation is continuing.
The Prince George RCMP would like to remind residents to take extra precautions before going away for extended periods of time:
· Ensure someone checks on your property or have someone stay in your residence
· Use light timers to help make the appearance that you are home
· In the winter, arrange to have someone remove fresh snow from your driveway
· When you are traveling by car, ask a neighbor to park in your driveway

Maybe Shaw cable and CKPG can get together and collaborate on our own Pawn Stars TV show up here in PG. Nothing better than sitting in front of my big screen TV and watching interesting characters bring their unusual items in with a story. Maybe with their outboard motors, other guys tools and equipment, their neighbours lawn mower or 8-track tapes. Top rated, maybe.
Really, are you going to report everytime there is a house breakin in PG, thats all the site will be is a long list of breakins.
Not really. But it sure would be entertaining listening to a guy with someone elses lawnmower tell a story of how it came into his possession.
I really do not mind these reports P Val, especially since this one is close to my area. I want neighborhood . Just the same as those scumbags who spray painted cars a few blocks away. Think if it was your house , you would want as much info out there as possible in hopes of maybe getting your stuff back.
I agree with Harley, the more stories like this the better. We can create a healthier, safer, community by reporting on these kind of events. The more aware people are, the less these kinds of B&E’s will go un-noticed.
There wouldn’t be a market for stolen goods if idjits didn’t buy them, probably with the justification that insurance will pay for it anyway.
Definitely keep up reporting even the small crime stories. Not everyone hears about these things, and it is useful for all of us to be informed of what is going on, and where. How can it not help to have more informed eyeballs in the neighbourhood?
metalman.
What is the penalty for stealing other peoples stuff? One day in jail and eighteen months probation? Prove otherwise to me.
The courts are not a deterrent to these crooks. It might be better if people set up motion activated cameras on their property and post their crook’s pictures on line to shame them. How about a web site ” PG’s least wanted citizens”
Well my house was robbed for over 15k in 2004 in upper college hieghts FYI. Hope that helps :) also never made the paper..lol but then again they robbed about 12 houses on my street and not a mention anywhere about it, and the cops blew it off as well.
