30 bags of pot, and some cold hard cash seized in speeding stop over the weekend near Vanderhoof
Prince George, B.C. – A 52 year old Vanderhoof man is in a heap of trouble after being stopped for speeding on the weekend.
Saturday, Prince George Regional Provincial Traffic Services stopped a pick up truck that was heading east bound on Highway 16 near Reeder road in Vanderhoof . The vehicle had been clocked at 147 km p/h in a 100 km zone.
When officers were talking with the driver, they detected an odour of marijuana, which lead to a search of the dually crew cab truck.
Officers uncovered 30 separate bags of marijuana, which weighed in a 8 kilograms. That’s about $45 thousand dollars worth on the street. They also recovered $500 in cash in brand new $50 dollar bills.
Not only did the driver have his vehicle impounded for 7 days because of the excessive speed, he was issued a ticket, faces possible charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and police are seeking civil forfeiture of the 2010 truck.

“This is an example of the work being conducted by the Prince George regional Provincial Traffic Services Unit” says Inspector Eric Brewer (in photo at right) “not only do members maintain safety on our roadways, they look beyond the ticket and are deterring the distribution of drugs.”
Inspector Brewer says it’s simple, “Criminals use the roadways, and our traffic service members do not have blinders on. They have in the past seized weapons, drugs, stolen property and interdicted a number of criminals. The presence of the Traffic Services Unit in the Vanderhoof area provides an additional layer of proactive policing which adds to the overall safety of the community through both road safety and criminal interdiction, which is evidenced by this significant seizure of drugs and cash.”

147kph with 8 kilos of drugs? hahahahahaha
Call Americas Dumbest Criminals…
He obviously hadn’t smoked any of the product recently. He wouldn’t have been driving so fast if he had. LOL!
I didn’t think I was speeding, officer! Was I holding up traffic?
Nice photo.
I hope the next wave of technology includes scratch and sniff web-sites …….mmmmmmm
So some guy gets stopped with a load of pot — he’s from Vanderhoof — right away there is a grow-op in Vanderhoof?? That’s not really good police work but then-the guy is pretty dumb.
What the hell, it’s ok to shoot heroin . Here’s a needle, c’mon over to our nice warm compassionate public rented building and we’ll make sure your doing it right and in the meantime we’ll just keep bustin’ pot peddlers. What a hypocritical stew of cops and politicians.
I have an idea: How about the cops go to the safe injection sites and pick up all those junkies, charge them with possession of an illegal substance and find out where they are getting drugs and bust the peddlers as well. If You have a junkie by the butt, in dire need of a fix, it isn’t hard to find his source. How about some police work here?? You have a battalion of under cover 6 month trainees?? Ohh, right— If you guys got rid of all these bad guys, you wouldn’t have a job would you? If the Pentagon stopped all wars, there wouldn’t be a reason for the Pentagon. If doctors cured cancer, we wouldn’t need so many doctors. I get it now! The brown meanies don’t want to put the bad guys in jail; they want to put the “slightly bad guys” in jail and then sell all the speeders vehicles. This act is interpeted by politicians as “safer streets”. Man; are we that gullable?
Tinfoil hats for sale. Get em before the brain scans get to you.
Nice police work. Thanks.
