Thursday, April 19, 2012 @ 2:51 PM
Prince George, B.C. – Four men are now facing one count each of kidnapping in connection with an incident on the weekend in Prince George.

On Sunday evening, Prince George RCMP  responded to a call that a 27 year old man had been kidnapped, held against his will and assaulted in rural east P.G.

A number of RCMP officers attended the Ferndale area and located an adult male victim suffering from serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The man was taken to the University Hospital of Northern BC for treatment.

Provincial Crown Counsel has now approved charges against four men suspected of being involved in the kidnapping:
One count of Kidnapping has been approved against all four suspects:

·       32 year old Michael Andrew Joseph Fitzgerald
·       35 year old Craig Anthony Niedermayer ,
·       24 year old Francois Christiaan Meerholz,
·       22 year old Dillan Meerholz,

All four suspects have been remanded into custody where they will remain until their next court appearance scheduled for April 30th, 2012 in Prince George.

RCMP say the investigation into this case continues and a number of search warrants have been executed. Evidence is being compiled for consideration of further charges.

Investigators believe this case is both drug related and targeted.

Remanded in custody, not released on a promise to appear? Wow, what was the judge thinking? ;-)

They face a maximum of life in prison for this.

One can only hope!

“They face a maximum of life in prison for this.”

Which means they’ll get 3 years :) in our justice system.

As I understand it, F. Meerholz can’t be deported until all outstanding criminal matters are settled. In my opinion, they should combine every single matter and sentence him to time served. Then turn him over to immigration to deal with. Get him outta here, asap.

Bleeding hearts will never allow it.

who was kidnapped? I guess we aren’t allowed to know that.

News2me: Where are they gong to send him? He’s from S. Africa but they don’t want him back.
24 years old. I wonder how long his rap sheet is and before that, his juevenile record? I think N.Korea should set up a system whereby they could import all our unwanted and use them for labour.

They weren’t “hangin’ offenses” and his trials are scheduled for Sept. Oct. Nov. I don’t see a problem. Probably on welfare til those court dates unless he gets a job. Getting to stay in Canada after officially being deported is an art and a full time job. Carry on.
