Toddler Checked After Two-Vehicle Collision
Prince George, BC – According to witness reports, a pick-up truck was apparently running a red light when it collided with another vehicle at a downtown intersection yesterday.
Prince George RCMP say there were no injuries reported as a result of the crash, but a two-year-old boy who was strapped into his child seat was transported to hospital to be checked out by a physician as a precaution.
Police say a Ford F-150 apparently ran a red light and struck the driver’s side of a Jeep Cherokee in the intersection of Victoria Street and 6th Avenue shortly before 8am yesterday morning.
So far, there’s no word on any charges. Anyone else who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Prince George Detachment at 250-561-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

See what happens when you think you own the road, you almost kill innocent people. Throw the book at him.
I wonder how many accidents downtown are caused by the confusing intersections. What I mean by that is one can drive down about any street downtown and on that same street there may be a stop sign, then no stop sign then maybe a light and so on. Added to that most of the intersections are blind with vehicles allowed to park very close to the intersection. This results in one having to be almost halfway into the intersection to get a good sight line.
The only reason any crashes could be caused at different intersections other than mechanical failure, would be due to drivers not paying attention.
If a driver is confused by stop signs and lights then it is time to turn over the license and start taking a cab.
rayban68 Some of the roads are not consistant, one block stop sign, then no stop signs for a couple of blocks, then a stop sign.
Shouldn’t be anything confusing about a red light or a stop sign. Too many drivers around here seem to think that they are suggestions, though.
Stop means stop and wait your turn, not “slow down until you are pretty sure the other person will stop, then hit the gas you you can beat them through the intersection.” Unless you have emergency lights on your vehicle, where ever you are going isn’t that important, so get over yourself.
consistency doesnt mean anything seamutt, u should be looking at every single intersection when u get to it. ur not makin any sense talking about this 1 has a stop sign then another 2 do not, what does that have to do with anything??? if a street having stop signs on some blocks but not others confuses u, then its time to stop driving and take the damn bus because u are a menace and will get someone killed, and then no amount of selfrighteous “but there was not stop sign last block!!!” will help them.
as far as sight line being blocked by park cars if u can’t see the intersection clearly for watever reason then SLOW DOWN AS U APPROCHE IT. LOOK and SEE if u have a stop sign! if the other guy has a stop sign hope sees it too and stops in case he is like seamutt and becomes confused if last block didn’t have stop sign and this one has.
