Quesnel- the City of Quesnel has accepted the resignation of City Manager John Stecyk effective immediately.
Stecyk came to the City Of Quesnel in January 2011. He cited personal reasons for his resignation.
The city says it will take several months to hire a new manager and in the meantime council has appointed two senior managers to oversee the cities operations and assist council during the transition period.
The two are Director of Finance Kari Bolton and Director of Public Works and Engineering, Ken Coombs.

Sounds like there might have been a little dust-up down in Quesnel… lots of controversy last year on the hiring of Mr Stenyk… (First 2 links) last year, that focussed on his firing as Deputy Minister of Highways in the Yukon back in 2007. (Last 2 links)
I think I heard recently that people were pointing at quesnel spending 1.5milllion $ per year on roads and only having 10% of the population…
If you read the articles from the Yukon (last 2 links below) on why Mr Stenyk was fired… that might explain a thing or two… Not judging… just saying’….
