Prince George, B.C. – The Canada Winter Games Society in Prince George will hit another major milestone in just a little more than two weeks.
On May 19th, it will be just 1,000 days to the opening ceremony of the 2015 Winter Games in Prince George.
To mark that milestone, Canfor has generously donated 1,000 seedlings that volunteers are welcome to plant in areas throughout the City which have been hit hard by the Mountain Pine Beetle.
Local youth sport organizations are invited to apply to take part in this special planting, and will have until 5:00 on May 9th to submit their application to 2015info@canadagames2015.ca
In order to take part, each organization must have at least 10 members and one adult team leader. Ten organizations will be randomly drawn and notified on May 10th. When the community planting event is over, each participating organization will receive a financial contribution to their fundraising efforts courtesy of the 2015 Canada Winter Games Host Society.

Given that these games, like the Olympics, are supposed to also be a CULTURAL celebration, why aren’t local youth cultural groups invited to participate?
