Prince George, BC – An RCMP raid on a rural residence near Quesnel has netted drugs with an estimated street value of $2.5-million dollars and resulted in charges against three men found hiding in a secret compartment between two walls in the home.

North District RCMP Media Relations Officer, Constable Lesley Smith, says members of the North District Integrated Marihuana Enforcement Task Force, Quesnel RCMP, Williams Lake RCMP, and Prince George Police Dog Services executed a search warrant on the residents on Rainbow Road in Quesnel late Tuesday evening.

Constable Smith says the home did not contain any furniture, the entire residence was being used as a marihuana grow operation.  More than 2500 plants in various stages of growth were seized, along with grow equipment and a pick-up truck on the property.

Smith says officers searched the residence and were, at first, unable to locate any suspects.  She says when a perimeter search of the property with Police Dog ‘Baron’ failed to locate any tracks leading away from the residence, police were confident the suspects were still inside.

Three male suspects – ages 34, 35, and 37 – were found ‘hiding in the walls’.  The trio face charges of Production of a controlled substance and Possession for the purpose of trafficking.  All three men are from the Lower Mainland, they’ve been released from custody on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
